Kinder Morgan and Tennessee Gas have finally been caught up with. They have been “stealing” from states and people for a long time by taking the land they want by “eminent domain.”
As of March 31, The General Assembly of Georgia has passed a temporary (and hopefully permanent) moratorium on the use of “eminent domain” in pipeline construction. That should also be done here in Massachusetts. The Georgia project has been halted until June 30, 2017. This is a vindication that there is NO NEED for a pipeline on Georgia coasts that would justify a “private company forcibly taking private property for private profit.” This is what they are trying to do here — running a pipeline through Mass so they can ship the gas overseas at OUR expense.
Why doesn’t DPU and FERC see this is what is happening here? Are these people being paid big bucks to grant such action? Do they realize the havoc they are raising? People’s income and livelihood will be affected, we will no longer have clean air to breathe, we will not have clean water to drink, fresh foods to eat, be able to enjoy our beautiful landscapes, birds and wildlife, hiking trails through our beautiful forests, and so much more that we now enjoy. We are not a rich state, but we pride ourselves on what things we can accomplish without being a millionaire.
We are a “Green State” and proud of it. I hope our officials put their foot down to the invasion of these property thieves and protect the people and property of Mass. Other states are trying to stop them too.
