GILL — A key leader in the 20th-century feminist movement, Gloria Steinem has long been connected with the struggle for women’s rights and on Tuesday she will share her journey with students and faculty at Northfield Mount Hermon School.
Steinem will spend Tuesday meeting with students at Northfield Mount Hermon School to talk about her 30-plus years as a feminist organizer, writer and political activist, said Stephen Porter, director of communications at the private prep school.
Since the talk at 7 p.m. will not be open to the public, the school will livestream it online. Before giving the schoolwide talk, Steinem will spend the day attending classes and mingling with the school community.
She will likely speak about her latest book, “My Life on the Road,” which details her career as a feminist organizer.
The evening talk is supported by the school’s Jacqueline Smethurst Series, which was established in 1998 to bring significant speakers and performers to campus, Porter said.
