SHELBURNE — A Honda Civic spun off the road Sunday morning with two area teenagers inside, police said.
The 17-year-old girls, from Buckland and Colrain, were transported to Franklin Medical Center in Greenfied after veering off the road and rolling into a field at about 11 a.m., according to Shelburne State Police Trooper Benjamin Therrien.
While the police determined that the driver was speeding, the cause of the accident is still under investigation by state police. There were no known road conditions that may have contributed to the accident, said Therrien.
There were no other vehicles involved and it appeared that the Honda Civic was a total loss, said Therrien.
