What? You mean there’s an animal shelter in Turners Falls?
YES! It’s the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Regional Dog Shelter, 10 Sandy Lane, Turners Falls. Phone number: 413-676-9182. The staff includes Christopher Donelan, sheriff; Leslee Colucci, shelter director; Gaby and Terry, staff members; as well as a number of volunteers.
It is a relatively small area but the capabilities of the staff and workers are overwhelmingly filled with love and compassion!
The animals that come there are so very fortunate. The turnover of recipients and dogs adopted is rapid and skillfully handled.
If you have some free time, please consider volunteering, it is very fulfilling.
In the future, and with the generosity of givers we’ll have a larger wonderful facility. I was blessed to be able to work with team leader Karen B., Eric and Sheri. What a wonderful team!
