1:35 p.m. — Control advised a reporting person would like an officer to check welfare of person on Hayden Street, who hasn’t been seen all week; officer found no answer at both doors, but then found a front window open and the officer was able to gain entry; the individual was located inside and he was visibly upset, but said he would be fine; he refused all medical assistance.
5:32 p.m. — Clerk at a Daniel Shays Highway location reports a needle was found in the bathroom; officer responded and disposed of the needle.
6:59 p.m. — Burglary or breaking and entering, reported on East River Street, where the caller would like a return call regarding his apartment being entered and items missing, report taken.
1:14 a.m. — Officer stopped a bicyclist at Davis and Pierce streets, for no front light showing; he was advised of the violation and safety issue.
2:29 a.m. — Caller from the Rodeway Inn reports somebody is in his room at this time, but he is currently in the bathroom, and states he isn’t sure where the person is but states they are somewhere in the room; he stated, “they are going to hurt me; you need to hurry,” when asked about any weapons, he said “I’m pretty sure they do.” While speaking to the reporting person it seemed he was having difficulty answering questions and then he had slurred speech, and questions had to be asked several times. The caller then said, “I don’t want to talk anymore,” but stayed on the phone until officer made contact, and the phone line then disconnected; officer then requests the ER be notified that a subject they known needs a psychiatric evaluation due to substance and paranoia, and found he was hiding in the bathroom, and appeared to recently have urinated on himself, and was under the influence of something; he was taken to the hospital, and was delusional upon arrival; he stated there was another person in the room with him, but no one was found there; he admitted to some drug and alcohol consumption during the evening.
3:07 a.m. — Accident at Factory Hollow Road and Route 2 where the caller says the vehicle is off the road; fire department and police responded, checked he area but no sign of an accident.
11:23 a.m. — Report of a threat being made at Foster’s on Allen Street; the reporting person won’t disclose the name or phone number, but describes two people as being about 6 feet tall, both wearing green tops, and states the male made threats he was, “going to punch people.” officer investigating and the cashier reported the male said, “I could hit someone right now,” and then turned his attention to her; the involved person was located and said there was no incidents occurred, but said the involved female only told the him not to throw items onto the register belt, because it’s not polite; officer spoke with Foster’s employee who had additional information, and the involve person was advised.
11:42 a.m. — Accident with injuries reported on French King Highway where the caller reports a female drove her car into the snow plow in the parking lot of Stop and Shop; the caller reports she is injured; caller transferred to Medcare, and then states she appears OK; air bags did deploy, no entrapment; situation investigated.
3:53 p.m. — Accident reported on the Mohawk Trail; two vehicles involved, injuries reported, one person taken to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
3:55 p.m. — Caller from Taft Avenue states she was getting fishy voicemails from the IRS; the caller received a hoax phone call from a person claiming to be the IRS;
4:12 p.m. — Disturbance reported at the Energy Park on Miles Street where the caller states he is feeling uncomfortable about the seven to ten people that have pitched a tent, with a mattress, in the Energy Park, behind the billboard, and he says they are drinking in public and causing a disturbance, officers located all people behind the wall, Mill Street area, and they were advised to move along, with no further issues.
6:33 p.m. — Caller states he is here on business and he believes his wife is under the influence of drugs while breast feeding their child, officers did a welfare check and found it not as reported; Department of Children and Families was notified of findings.
9:39 a.m. — Call from the Cutlery Block on Third Street where the caller says a female is in a black Toyota and is about to drive off, and she has a revoked driver’s license; the name was checked and confirmed about the revoked license; officer stopping the vehicle requesting assistance; officers have two in custody and transporting to the station; a Greenfield female officer being summoned for a search; four people were eventually taken into custody. Arrested were Demetrius White, 31, of Fifth Street, Turners Falls, charged with knowingly being present where heroin is kept, and possession of a Class B drug, subsequent offense; Dennis A. Arsenault, Jr., 39, of East Street, Northfield, charged with operating with revoked license, and knowingly being present where heroin is kept; Jesse A. James, 37, of North Cross Road, Gill, charged with possession of a Class A drug, subsequent offense, and knowingly being present where heroin is kept; Taryn B. Valdez, 32, of Third Street, Turners Falls; knowingly being present where heroin is kept, possessing a counterfeit drug with intent to distribute, possession of a Class B drug, possession of a Class E drug, allowing an improper person to operate a vehicle, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and possession of a Class A drug. Bail was set variously for all four people arrested, $500 for White, $2,500 for Arsenault, $1,000 for James, and $2,500 for Valdez.
10:11 a.m. — Walk-in is an employee with the Central Street School/Headstart program, and stated a male, about 5-foot-10, wearing a T-shirt and jeans was hanging around in the rear of the building, and had possibly been looking into windows; the caller states he alerted the staff inside, about the person, and they secured all exits to the building; the reporting person advised when the male noticed him, he walked off, but unknown where he might be now; the reporting person requested extra checks of the property if possible.
10:48 a.m. — Caller from near St. Kazimierz Society on Avenue A, and says she witnessed several times an elderly male in a black Ford pickup drive up to St. Kaz; he then exits, uses a plastic cup to urinate in, and then tosses the urine into the driveway, and then will often go into St. Kaz; the caller was concerned because she often babysits her young grandchild while going by there.
11:19 a.m. — Reporting person from the Rod Shop Road says she was attempting to sign up for food stamps online when she was alerted by the office that oversees this, that a person in Colorado is using the same Social Security Number; the reporting person was given a name of the person involved, and the information that he works for the Vail Resort, in Colorado. Detective will call the reporting person back.
5 p.m. — A male came into the lobby requesting to speak to an officer regarding a cane that was left to him, when his brother passed away, and that has a hidden sword; officer speaking with the man in the lobby regarding options.
11:06 p.m. — Caller from Millers Falls Road reports he has heard a female voice screaming several times, but unknown what direction it was coming from; he looked outside, but was unable to see anything obvious; officers spoke with the reporting person and checked the area on foot and patrol unit but unable to locate anything.
8:26 a.m. — Shelburne Control advised they got a call from a PCA stating that she is unable to reach her client; officer was sent and access was gained to the apartment where the client was found; she was then transported to Athol Hospital.
12:05 p.m. — Traffic stop on East Main Street for an expired inspection sticker, revoked registration, and no insurance’ the plates were seized and the vehicle was towed at owners request, and a complaint will be filed and summons issued for court.
2:07 p.m. — Officer located a male on Daniel Shay’s Highway who has an active warrant, and he was taken into custody; arrested was Andrew N. Hough, 22; Sandrah Drive, Orange, on a default warrant.
9:06 a.m. — Accident reported on Barr Avenue, two vehicles involved, no injuries reported, information was exchanged.
4:13 p.m. — Accident reported on Main Street where a car went into a building near the El Greco restaurant; no injuries reported, building inspector called and inspected the scene, found to be minor damage, and that it happened an hour prior to the call.
4:27 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported on Miner Street where a black male claims to be soliciting for Eversource. wearing black clothes and red shoes; officer checked the area, but gone on arrival of police.
4:42 p.m. — Disturbance on Forbes Court where the caller says he was trying to pick up his daughter ad is now in an argument with the child’s mother; officers sent, and found it to be a verbal argument over custody and care of the child situation discussed; report filed.
5:04 p.m. — Report of a hazard on Burnham Road; the DPW supervisor asks if we can check the area for a reported tree branch in the road; officer confirms a large tree in the roadway; DPW was advised.
5:31 p.m. — Caller from Bernardston Road says a “lean Arabian looking man,” was asking her to see her electric bill; he claimed he was representing Eversource; subject not found.
6:31 p.m. — Caller from Solar Way reports two males, one with a neck tattoo are soliciting for an electric company; situation investigated, and they were advised.
7:11 p.m. — Disturbance reported at the Energy Park on Miles street where the caller says a white male wearing a black sweatshirt and has gray hair, is yelling and screaming at that location; officers sent, and the male was located by officers and moved along.
7:32 p.m. — Larceny reported at B.J.’s on Colrain Road where the caller said a male entered the store with no merchandise, then goes to the return counter with an item, officer took a report and charges are pending.
8:07 p.m. — Caller from Shelburne Road reports a large tree, too big to move, is covering both sides of the road; officer located the tree and moved it out of the road; he then advised dispatch to contact the DPW in the morning to have it cleaned up.
8:14 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported on Chapman Street where the caller said a male and female were yelling at each other and the male was shoving her; both were described as thin, white, and seemed messed up; officers sent, but nothing found on arrival.
9:11 p.m. — Caller from Solar Way again reports the solicitors from NRG got her Eversource account information and were going to switch her provider without her consent; she was informed to keep an eye on her statement and if any changes are made, to call Eversource and/or NRG and if that doesn’t work, she can call the BBB or the AG’s officer and lodge a complaint.
10:02 p.m. — Breaking and entering reported at ServiceNet facility on High Street where a staff member says that items are missing from the residence; an Xbox 360 was taken from the residence; and report has further details.
2:27 a.m. — A residential burglar alarm was going off at Dry Hill Road location, and the alarm company says it shows a cellar motion alarm; officers sent, and the alarm company called the residence with no answer, and will now attempt to contact a key holder; they left messages for the key holders they have listed for that location; dispatch also left a message for a key holder listed; officer on scene reports no problems noted.
3:59 p.m. — Shoplifting reported at Connecticut River Liquor and Wine on Avenue A where the reporting person wants it on record that a familiar male took an extra nip bottle without paying for it; he had paid for two but has put three in his pocket; and this was seen on the camera; a description was given and the reporting person just wanted this on record at this time in case this happens again.
6:14 p.m. — The reporting person advised a male was just at her door on Fifth Street stating that he was with the electric company and was requesting to look at the reporting person rates; the reporting person thought this may have been a scam; the reporting person didn’t open the door, and no description of the person, but she believes he is still in the area; the reporting person was advised we have received solicitation regulations for energy companies who this person may have been with, but this would be passed along to the officers; units were advised.
9:02 p.m. — Officer moved a group of people along from the skate park on Unity and First streets.
9:09 p.m. — Accident reported on the town line with Sunderland, where the reporting person says he struck a deer and has substantial damage to the vehicle, but no injuries reported; the deer is no longer alive and was moved out of the road; he reports it is close to the town line; officer advises the vehicle is in Montague, and dispatch can cancel Sunderland.
10:35 p.m. — A female reporting person requests to be anonymous, but is advising of a fight in the alleyway near Hubie’s Tavern and Restaurant on Avenue A; the reporting person now says that it appears that the fight has broken up but there is a female in front of the establishment who is crying; the female can be heard stating something about her husband being abusive; the female has long hair and is wearing a turquoise shirt; officer en route there and the officer advises nothing happened inside, but a spat occurred outside between two males; the situation has been resolved and all have gone their separate ways.
12 a.m. — Caller from Taylor’s Tavern requests a welfare check on a person at that location; officers found the male was sleeping in the bar, but then he appears to be okay, and says he is tired from traveling; services rendered.
2:16 a.m. — Officer in cruiser was flagged down by a individual speaking of a disturbance at Smitty’s Pub on Chapman Street; officer then reports he has one person in custody; tow truck en route; arrested was Christopher P. Wiles, 52, of Woodard Road, Greenfield; charged with operating under the influence of liquor.
9:05 a.m. — Disturbance at the Winslow Building on Wells Street where a reporting person called 911 to say the other person was making threats to him saying, I’m going to beat your a–,” and the reporting person was advised to say in his apartment the officer will come to speak with him; found that this wasn’t a violation of the harassment prevention order by approaching and threatening him; video shows the reporting person was embellishing his story; the other person’s story was somewhat corroborated with some discrepancies.
1:50 p.m. — Despondent person walked to emergency room for evaluation.
3:40 p.m. — Son says father has beginning stages of dementia, asks police to hold firearms until they can be sold. Agreed.
3:56 p.m. — Caller reports motorcycle key stolen from ignition of motorcycle on Main Street.
2:52 a.m. — Loud noise disturbance on First Street near the river, from where Control advises of a call from Oak Street in Gill, and the female says she was awakened from sleep by what she believes was 5 to 7 gun shots coming from the river area; officers checked the area of the river seen from First Street and the whole length of the river view, but nothing out of the ordinary found.
7 a.m. — Male caller from Second Street requests to speak with an officer in regards to his girlfriend not coming home and what he should do in regards to their common eight-month old child; officer spoke with him and advised of options and also that they have a DCF worker as well.
7:37 a.m. — Accident reported at Turners Falls High School in the student drop off area, two vehicles involved, no injuries reported, no smoke and no fluids the operator of a pickup truck was found at fault, report taken. citation issued.
8:38 a.m. — Accident with personal injury on Turners Falls Road in front of the Millers Falls Rod and Gun Club area one car accident and the female was complaining of injuries and a child in the vehicle but unknown if the child is injured; the vehicle went off the road and into a ditch, then swerved out of the ditch and came to rest in the middle of the road; officer spoke with Medcare and Turners Falls Fire Department, and officers were advised; tow truck was contacted; officer advised the child appears to be uninjured; the operator was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, and the child was picked up by a family member.
1:51 a.m. — Traffic stop on Newton Street. Shelburne man to be summoned to court, on charges of driving unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
2:54 a.m. — Traffic stop on Mohawk Trail. Citation issued for open container in vehicle, summoned to court for possession of Class B and E substances.
11:10 a.m. — Walk-in reports identity theft. Services rendered.
11:36 a.m. — Eric R. Bell, 26, of Fourth Street, Apt. 2, Turners Falls, arrested on a warrant.
1:17 p.m. — While monitoring Sugar Shack Alliance anti-pipeline walk, observed participants crossing River Street/Mohawk Trail intersection against lights and stopping green-light traffic. Lead person advised, stated he would remind participants to obey all state and local traffic laws and monitor same.
1:30 p.m. — Directed traffic at Main and Federal streets due to large number of participants involved in Sugar Shack Alliance walk.
3:06 p.m. — Accident with injuries on Federal Street. Vehicle stopped at Osgood Street crosswalk, second vehicle rear-ended same, passenger transported with minor injury to forehead.
3:16 p.m. — Caller reports his wife is vomiting blood, is highly intoxicated and wants to harm herself. Female suffering from alcohol-related issues transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
2:09 p.m. — An officer performed a motor vehicle stop when a driver was drifting over the yellow center lines. The operator was not under the influence, but was charged with possession of a class A substance. Rear passenger was charged with possession of a Class B substance.
6:09 p.m. — Police received a report of a threat. the caller stated that she had met with a male party to give him money so that he could buy drugs because he has been having a hard time with withdrawals. The caller stated that when she met with him to give him $10, he held a gun to her asking for all of her money. The caller stated that she still has the gun in her possession. The caller said that her husband had doubts that the gun was real. The caller would not positivity identify herself.
