Greenfield, March 7

6:43 p.m. — Report of a runaway from Baystate Franklin Medical Center, Sanderson Street side, officers sent, and located the female on Sanderson Street and are escorting her back to the hospital

8:21 p.m. — Caller from Davis Street is a mother who reports her 12-year-old son put his hands around her neck and tried to choke her; he also pushed his brother out of his bed; she denies any injury to those involved, and states she is in the backyard now; officers sent and found it to be issue with discipline with the juvenile male; situation calmed and peace was restored. The son apologized for his actions and the reporting person was satisfied with the outcome.

8:44 p.m. — Disturbance reported at the Miles Street Hotel apartments from where a 911 caller states her boyfriend has cut himself with what she thinks is a knife; he is bleeding and has now taken off on foot from the apartment; officers checked the area attempting to locate the known male but not able to locate at this time.

10:18 p.m. — Hit-and-run accident reported by a female who says she parked her car on the side of Pierce Street and was brought to the emergency room at the hospital by a friend on or around 3:40 p.m. and returned at about 10:08 p.m. and found her driver’s side door to be dented and the glass broken.

10:27 p.m. — Caller from the Miles Street Hotel apartments reports her son is back, and officers then advised he is secure, and Medcare is requested; officer riding with Medcare to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, and another officer following.

Montague, March 7

12:25 a.m. — Officers on Lake Pleasant Road to serve a warrant; arrested was Meagan A. Vazquez, 36, of Lake Pleasant Road, Lake Pleasant section of Montague, on the warrant.

12:44 p.m. — Reporting person requests to meet with an officer at the F. L. Roberts gas station on Third Street regarding threatening texts he has been receiving from his son; officer met with the man, and he was advised of options.

4:51 p.m. — Caller from Fosters Road where the reporting person was complaining about an older and younger looking male in the yard, at the given location, firing what appears to be a rifle, possibly a .22; the caller feels they are too close to the road and too close to a nearby house; officer spoke with the resident there and he denied being involved, but did hear the sound; nothing heard on officer’s arrival.

Orange, March 7

7 a.m. — Report from Stone Valley Road advised Shelburne Control of an injured skunk on that road; the skunk was dispatched and the Orange Highway Department removed it.

9:45 a.m. — Officer on East Main Street observed a person who was wanted by the New York State Police; arrested was Michael Joseph Woodard, 66, of Bacon Street, Orange, as a being a fugitive from justice on a court warrant.

3:27 p.m. — Motor vehicle disturbance on Lincoln Avenue where the caller reports a vehicle just went through the school van lights on Lincoln, and there was a male driving it; plate numbers come back to a person on Lincoln Avenue, and an officer will make contact.

4:56 p.m. — Caller from East River Street reports that her 12-year-old received a call from a female who was yelling that she was on the way to kill him; the reporting person attempted to tell the caller that she has the wrong number, but the female continued to rant; officer attempted to call the female involved, twice, but no answer; he will follow up.

5:30 p.m. — Reporting person from East River Street says that threats were made to his daughter, by her boyfriend, and upon a call back, the options were discussed; it was suggested that she seek a 209A order.

2:05 p.m. — General disturbance reported on Red Brook Lane from where control got a call about a person in the hallway banging on things and causing a disturbance; officer found it was all over on arrival.

2:06 p.m. — Harassment reported on Red Brook Lane, where the caller says a person is hacking into her phone with a computer; she was advised it would be on record.

9:05 p.m. — Caller from East Road reports a male exiting from a Prescott Lane house, and the home is believed to be vacant; officer found a male there who stated that his mother still owns the property and he is allowed to stay there; this was confirmed with home owner via cell phone call.

Sunderland, March 7

8:53 a.m. — Call in to Control reporting a possible chimney fire on North Main Street; officer and Sunderland Fire Department en route; black smoke coming out of the chimney; fire officer spoke to the home owner who indicated they were burning cardboard in their wood stove.

7 p.m. — Report of a shoplifting at Sunderland Gulf Station; report taken of one can of Twisted Tea taken, possibly by an underage patron.

11:08 p.m. — Officer assisting Deerfield Police with a fight outside of After Works, at Hot L location.

Greenfield, March 8

1:32 a.m. — Traffic stop at Silver and Chapman streets; officer then requesting a K-9 unit for a search, and Montague K-9 is en route; and then at scene; nothing further listed in the log.

10:40 a.m. — Larceny reported from People’s Pint on Federal Street where a red wallet was lost last night between 6 and 8 p.m. — on Main Street; cards were then illegally used at various locations in town, officer to investigate; complaint issued.

12:39 p.m. — Report from Calvary Cemetery where an officer located a shack on the edge of the properties; officer spoke with two people there, who stated that it was built for the kids in Petty Plain, but they will move it further in, and on the Petty Plain property.

3:52 p.m. — Accident reported in the parking lot at The Barn on River Street; no injuries reported, and one car has been scratched on the back passenger side; officer found little to no damage on both vehicles, and information was exchanged.

5:01 p.m. — Accident at Cheapside and Deerfield streets, but no injuries reported; citation issued; no tows, information was exchanged; one vehicle rear-ended the other at a stop sign from Cheapside Street onto Deerfield Street.

7:49 p.m. — Accident reported on the Route 2 bypass in the eastbound lane; but no injuries reported; one reporting person says they were driving East on Route 2 where the lanes merge, and was side swiped by another vehicle; at this time the vehicle is disabled on the side of the road; the reporting person denies any injury or fluids on the ground; officer found damage was consistent on both vehicles; it appears the blue Honda vehicle merged into one lane, colliding with the white Hyundai vehicle, the white vehicle is now having a battery problem.

Montague, March 8

7:55 a.m. — Caller reports a stop sign that has been taken down by a truck at the Greenfield and Montague City roads location; the caller believes the truck came from the WPCF (water protection control facility). DPW and officer were advised, and the officer said the sign was knocked off, but someone propped it back up, so there is a sign there, just not in its proper position; DPW was advised.

8:26 a.m. — Officers on Randall Road to serve a warrant; arrested was Jonathan Nadeau, 23, of Randall Road, on a probation warrant.

10:30 a.m. — Walk-in from Central Street reports vandalism and says that someone spit on her vehicle overnight, and is requesting an officer; the officer spoke with her and advised her of options.

11:37 a.m. — Caller from the Parent and Child Development Center/Headstart on G Street where the caller requests an officer to pick up a bag that may be drug paraphernalia located on the property; officer advised and he retrieved the bag, but there was nothing inside.

12:51 p.m. – The chief received an e-mail from a reporting person on Grove Street reporting the ongoing issue she has been having with her neighbor playing loud music/band and hasn’t stopped (sometimes going/playing beyond past 9 p.m.). The chief advised her this would be logged and advised her to call (the station) when this is in progress and an officer would respond.

1:21 p.m. — A person from Montague City Road walked in to report unauthorized charges on the reporting person’s Kohl’s charge card; the reporting person has already reported this to the Kohl’s office, and copies of Kohl’s paperwork were given to the officer inquiring into the situation.

4:54 p.m. — Larceny reported at the Salvation Army thrift store on Avenue A where the caller says there is a white female with blue jeans and a black sweatshirt, on their back dock, stealing items, and appears to be on foot; officer on scene and requests the employee go out and make contact with the officer; the person involved was verbally trespassed by the employee while with the officer.

5:10 p.m. — While an officer was coming from a detail, he advised he noticed several youths on skateboards using the new benches at Third and Avenue A to jump from; he stopped and warned the individuals about this activity, and they were reminded that there is now a skate park in town for such activity.

6:23 p.m. — Officer advised a large group of people at the Unity Park Skate Park on First Street; they were advised to leave, as the skate park is closed after dusk.

Orange, March 8

9:01 a.m. — Hazard reported at Tully Pond where the caller reports there has been a house under construction there and she has been seeing debris from the site floating in the water; yesterday it sounded like something exploded over there; the call was referred to the building inspector.

12:56 p.m. — Traffic stop on East Main Street for an expired registration; the operator was able to renew the registration using the Internet access from a smart phone; they were given a verbal warning for the violation.

4:35 p.m. — Control reports a minor accident on Water Street where one vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle; the first operator was waiting to make a turn onto East Main Street; officer reports damage is under $1,000; the operator of the vehicle that was struck complained of some minor neck pain; Orange Ambulance responded, and a medical refusal was signed.

6:30 p.m. — Control got a call from a woman on East River Street reporting her 19-year-old son is out of control; on officer’s arrival he was outside, and had settled down; officer spoke with the reporting person and he agreed to stay from the son for the night.

Greenfield, March 9

12:23 a.m. — Officer checking on three people and two vehicles parked at the Cumberland Farms store on Main Street, found the people were attempting to jump one vehicle; officer provided light to assist the people.

1:20 a.m. — Traffic stop on Federal Street at Pond Street, officer then requested a K-9 unit, based on history of vehicles occupants, behavior and their conflicting stories; state police K-9 en route, and the dog had a hit, but nothing found; the motor vehicle was seen first with one operator and when they left a residence they stopped by Woodleigh Avenue, and rolled for three blocks before coming to a rest; there were multiple baseball bats in the vehicle, and all three people had different stories; one person was holding about $1,500 in cash, and was unemployed, registered owner of the vehicle; the operator had significant drug records; a citation was issued for speed and failure to pull right for an emergency vehicle; a passenger was issued a criminal app for operating after suspension.

9:45 a.m. — Traffic stop on the Mohawk Trail investigation leads to arrest of Karri L. Bailey, 30, of Chapman Street, Greenfield. Charges of operating with license revoked, subsequent offense, and on a warrant. The registered owner of the vehicle took control, and no tow needed.

11:50 a.m. — Despondent person reported at the VA Outpatient Clinic on Munson Street, where the reporting person says there is a patient who has a knife, and is with a psychiatrist in one of the rooms; the caller was alerted to this by a message from the clinician stating he needs to section this woman as she says she has a knife, but the clinician adds that he is safe now; officers located the subject, and the knife was in her purse; the knife was turned over to VA security for possible federal charges; the female never displayed the knife; the Section 12 was completed and she was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, by Medcare;

1:15 p.m. — Walk-in from Bayberry Court reports he received a false letter from the IRS, claiming he owed money; the reporting person went to Springfield, and spoke to a revenue officer, and the reporting person stated he was informed the letter was false; he requested this be logged and a copy faxed to the Springfield office of IRS; the reporting person didn’t have the letter with him.

3:37 p.m. — Caller from Lakeview Avenue states she had found some items that had been stolen a year ago, online at an app known as OfferUp; officer to investigate.

4:11 p.m. — Disturbance at the Dollar Tree on the Mohawk Trail here the caller states she was in the store and heard a woman yelling at her child and then heard her say, “you are going to get hit,” and she told us the woman had a purple T-shirt, curly brown hair and was driving an SUV, dark blue on top and with tan on the bottom; officers found the mother was disciplining child, 5-years-old, and had five kids in total; she stated that her daughter was yelling and making statements that may have drawn bystanders attention; officers checked on the child, and all appears to be OK (gave the child a cop card) and found no further incident.

5:36 p.m. — Suspicious activity on Garfield Street where the reporting person would like to speak with an officer about her landlord going through her mailbox; the reporting person wanted the incident logged and will contact us if there is an on-going problem; as far as the reporting person knows, no mail was stolen.

6:29 p.m. — Unwanted person reported at Mill Street location where the caller says his wife was home with kids, and she saw an elderly woman looking in the window, writing down information on a piece of paper; when the husband go home, he approached the woman, and asked her what she was doing, and she didn’t respond; officer responded, but was unable to find the elderly woman; the reporting person will call again if she comes out again.

7:52 p.m. — Caller from Rite Aid on Main Street reports a man ran into the store stating that he was being chased, and threatened by someone; the man then left the store, and took off running; officers located a known male who believes that a male slashed his bike tire, and continues to follow the reporting person around town, and wants the reporting person to fight him. The reporting person stated he didn’t want anything done, and just wanted the other person to leave him alone.

11:01 p.m. — Crisis services called in regards to a female who called them stating her boyfriend is intoxicated and stated to Crisis Services that the involved male would kill her if she was heard on the phone speaking to the police; officers found it to be a verbal dispute between tenants and the reporting person will be spending the night at the residence sleeping; situation discussed, and parties were advised of options.

Montague, March 9

5:01 a.m. — Officer out with a vehicle on Fourth Street where the operator is in the driver’s seat; officer found that the vehicle is a revoked inspection; and officer confirm the registration, and to start the tow truck; which is now en route; the reason for the tow is to remove the vehicle from the public way, no operations involved, and no citation; the tow truck now has the hook.

11:16 a.m. — Unwanted person reported at the Third Street Laundry where the caller, who wishes to remain anonymous, reports there is a male, Puerto Rican, heavy set, that is hanging out there, inside the business, and the reporting person stated the owner told him to call Montague Police if he saw this person inside the business, as he (owner) reportedly doesn’t want him there. Information was given to a police sergeant who will be contacting the owner, but the cell number isn’t taking calls, and a message was left on the house number listed. Nothing further as of this time.

2:49 p.m. — A walk-in from Randall Road reports that sometime between yesterday and today, his home was broken into, as entry was made through a basement window; the reporting person stated a lock box, with a key and thumbprint lock, was entered and the following medications were taken; Oxycodone (24 pills) Oxycontin, (24 pills) Adderall, (16 pills) and Clonopin, (32 pills); the reporting person stated has no idea who would have done this; report taken.

4:34 p.m. — Accident with injury reported just north of the Montague Inn on Federal Street, a single motorcycle involved, and the reporting person advised the operator may have struck his head when he fell from the cycle. Shelburne Control contacted for Montague Center Fire Department, and conferences with Medcare; the reporting person says the patient is conscious and alert, and doesn’t have any obvious injuries; officer on the scene says the motorcycle struck a guy wire for the pole, and no visible damage, but requests that Eversource be notified as a precaution; the operator was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, by Medcare.

8:59 p.m. — Officer on Migratory Way checking on a suspicious motor vehicle with two people inside; the people advised they were there to smoke cigarettes because they aren’t allowed to smoke in the transitional program where they reside; they will be leaving in a few minutes.

Greenfield, March 10

1:49 a.m. — Caller from Chapman Street reports a male is outside, yelling and causing a disturbance; the reporting person states the male is possibly intoxicated, and has a history of doing this; the caller gave the male’s name, and that he is currently outside at this time; the male was reportedly upset about loosing his keys to the residence, but has since gone inside; officer spoke with the male party’s son on the scene.

3:12 p.m. — Officer out with two vehicles and four individuals and investigation leads to arrest of Luis E. Rivera, 26, of Northampton. charged on a warrant.

Greenfield, March 11

1:14 a.m. — Traffic stop at Pierce and Davis streets where the vehicle was stopped for no head lights; the operator said she was giving her friend a ride to a store; the friend is highly intoxicated and under 21; alcohol located in the back seat; the operator hasn’t been drinking; the registered owner was brought back home and placed into the custody of her mother; the operator was given a courtesy transport back home to Bernardston.

Orange, March 11

2 a.m. — While on patrol, an officer came across five people arguing in the middle of North Main Street; two subjects took off and were later found by the officer; all were found to be intoxicated and a brief struggle had ensued, but none wanted to press charges; Two of them were given transport to Athol, and they were no longer welcome at the home on North Main Street.
