BUCKLAND — Students and alumni of the Mohawk Trail Regional School District have until April 1 to apply for a Carl H. Nilman scholarship for college or graduate school.
The late Carl H. Nilman was a Buckland resident who directed that a portion of the income earned from the trust fund he established be used for awarding scholarships for post-high school education or training. Only Mohawk Trail Regional High School graduates are eligible. Applicants must be residents of the nine-town district (Ashfield, Buckland, Charlemont, Colrain, Hawley, Heath, Plainfield, Rowe and Shelburne).
Students of any age who are graduates of Mohawk Trail Regional High School (and were living in the nine-town area at the time of graduation) are encouraged to apply for scholarships to help meet their continuing education needs.
Graduates of Mohawk Trail Regional High School who are residents of the district may go on line to: mohawkschools.org to obtain the Nilman Scholarship Fund Graduate Application.
Current seniors attending Mohawk who live in the district, may see Karen Strong in Student Services for an application. Those with questions, may call Strong at 413-625-9811, ext. 1305.
