LEICESTER — Police in Leicester have killed a sick fox believed to be the same animal that attacked two people in town.

Police on their Facebook page said a fox that “appeared to be ill and in distress” was spotted near a school at about 6:30 a.m. Friday and put down by an officer.

The fox will be tested for rabies.

A 67-year-old woman was outside standing on a chair and washing her windows on Thursday morning when a fox bit her on the legs, then chased her as she ran inside.

The fox attacked a 67-year-old man on the same street about 20 minutes later.
