SOUTH DEERFIELD — A South Deerfield man faces several charges stemming from an incident that police say followed a night of drinking.

Gary J. Laflamme, 26, of 61 Hillside Road, Apt. A, in South Deerfield faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction of property valued at more than $250, and two counts of assault and battery on a family/household member. He was arraigned in Greenfield District Court on Friday, when he pleaded innocent.

According to a police report in the court records, Laflamme went out for drinks on Nov. 15 and returned about 1 a.m. and got into a fight with his girlfriend at the residence they shared. The woman told police Laflamme was “so drunk I don’t think he knew where he was.”

According to the report, Laflamme insulted the woman and started throwing items from the refrigerator around the apartment. At one point, Laflamme picked up the woman and threw her across the room, causing her to land on a table and hit a chair, police said. Laflamme threw her around the room several more times, according to police. The altercation continued into the hallway, where police allege Laflamme threw the woman three to four more times, struck her in the face six times and smashed the woman’s cell phone.

The woman told police she found a vehicle key and left after Laflamme went into the bedroom.

According to a police report, the woman’s injuries included two black eyes, a cut on her nose, a bruised lip, bruised arm and legs, and bruised tailbone.
