I would like to take this opportunity to thank those individuals who have contributed to making West County Physicians a caring and vibrant community health center during my time there. Our docs: Christopher French, Stefan Topolski, Gordon Gieg, Jane Willis and Bob Shriver. Our NP’s: Marina Goldman, Sandy Founds, Cathy Chapman Sylvester, Anna Foster, Janine Risser, Angel Russek, and Lauren Fox. Gail Rice our office manager for over 30 years, Ann Martin our receptionist for 27 years, and Stephanie Williams our nurse for 20 years. Others include Ilene Stahl, Clare Pearson, Kathryn Lyndon, Theresa Cassidy, Jill Connelly, Shawn Pyne, Simonne Westort, Sue Roberts, Allison Wahlstrom, Mary Hapeman and Russell Kelley. Many of our children helped out in the summers including NurAlima , Claire, and Kristia Grandison. They and their father Greg Grandison continue to provide support.
I would also like to remember my dear friend Teri Kerr, nutritionist, who collaborated with me on workshops in New York state on Pregnancy and Childbirth and here on Osteoporosis, Menopause, and Wellness topics. WCP promoted Wellness through on-going medical care that included Homeopathy, Nutrition, Acupuncture and, Raphaelite Healing Sessions, in addition to traditional medical care. It was very challenging to close this medical practice. However, financial issues related to the EMR necessitated doing this quickly.
Since then I have helped my son Nathan move into a group home for medically complex young men in Hadley where he is doing well, after six weeks in the hospital last fall. It has been an honor and great privilege to live and work in this community in which my children grew and matured in a loving community.
