9:15 a.m. — Hazard reported on Lake Mattawa Road where the caller told Control that there is a tree down across the road in the area of the boat ramp; Orange Highway Department was notified.
12:15 p.m. — Control advised asset protection for a business on East Main Street reports they have a person detained for shoplifting; the person was identified, and a criminal complaint will be filed with the Orange District Court.
3:06 p.m. — Control reports a bus driver on West River street is requesting assistance with a person who keeps sliding out of the wheel chair; on arrival the officer found the Orange Ambulance was all set.
3:18 p.m. — Accident reported on West River Street, a two vehicle accident, with fluids leaking; officer took the report.
3:30 p.m. — Officer issued a parking ticket on a vehicle parked on the sidewalk on Hayden Street; high school students had to walk out into the road to get around it.
8:13 p.m. — Control reports a caller from East River Street would like a return call; the reporting person was concerned as someone had posted on Facebook that he threatened someone with a gun in the past; the reporting person said this wasn’t true, and he was just concerned about it.
11:25 p.m. — Caller from Chase Street reports there is a man outside their apartment window; the person was gone on officer’s arrival and the caller was given suggestions and advised of their options.
1:21 p.m. — Report of trespassing on South Shelburne Road where two people were in tents at this location, and officers spoke to them, and they were given until tomorrow afternoon to move/remove themselves, and their property; a nearby resident was notified, and advised of the trespassing, charge if they remain.
4:07 p.m. — Accident at Solon Street and the Mohawk Trail, two vehicles involved, and no damage reported, and none found by an officer, but operator of one vehicle complained of a headache.
5:40p.m. — Suspicious activity reported on Wells Street where the caller said he believes someone was shooting at turkey vultures in the area, and there is one injured by the railroad tracks; caller said shots were from the rear of a Chapman Street location, which is for sale and being renovated, and suspects are workers in a white work van; they had left the area prior to officer’s arrival; the injured bird is gone; caller advised he believed they were shooting a .22 caliber rifle into the air. Under investigation.
6:17 p.m. — General disturbance reported at the Key Starr program on Park Street where Medcare requested an officer for assistance with a 13-year-old destroying items; with officers assistance the juvenile was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, by Medcare.
7:06 p.m. — Call from a suicide hotline reporting a female in Turners Falls is chatting with them and she is feeling suicidal and that she has taken 10 pills, 5 Seraquil and 5 lorazapam, and wouldn’t give the hotline a location or a name; call was traced to Verizon who indicated the phone belongs to a (named person) but no person with this name could be found; possibly showing a Greenfield address; officer contacted the number and reached a female matching the name, and she stated she was fine, but agreed to have an officer come and talk with her, and she gave a Turners Falls address; Montague police were contacted and will respond to check on her.
11:45 p.m. — Hit and run accident reported near the Chapman Street parking area where the caller says a “jacked up” gray truck was parked next to him, and it appears the truck backed up, and side-swiped the entire driver’s side of the reporting person’s vehicle, leaving a paint transfer. Report filed.
9:03 a.m. — Officer on patrol checking on a motor vehicle near Hillside Plastics on Millers Falls Road, determined to be a disabled vehicle and the operator has already contacted a tow, and will be here in 15-minutes; services rendered.
3:24 p.m. — Walk-in person reporting a past accident in the parking area at Rite Aid on Avenue A, and says it happened about 10-minutes ago; the reporting person says they exchanged information with the other person, and there was minor damage to his vehicle, small dent and some paint transfer; no damage to the other vehicle; officer spike with the reporting person in the lobby.
4;03 p.m. — Caller advises of a female driving a red Subaru with a piece of plywood on the roof, but isn’t secured and while the vehicle was going only about 10mile per hour on Federal street just south of swamp Road, the plywood had already come off the vehicle and almost hit another car; officer located the vehicle, assisted with securing the plywood, and the operator will continue to drive slowly and with hazards on.
5:05 p.m. — Caller from Hillside Road reports three kids with a four-wheeler and a dirt bike are riding in the area of the hill by the baseball fields; the reporting person said all the kids have helmets on, but he is concerned, due to the way they are riding and blowing donuts, that the school won’t allow the snowmobilers to use this property; officer checked the area and the youths were gone, and there doesn’t appear to be any property damage.
12:05 a.m. — Loud noise disturbance on East Main Street; officers made contact with the source, and that person was advised to keep it quiet for the evening.
12:56 a.m. — An officer on Main Street reports they may have an issue at Taylor’s Tavern where two females were having a verbal altercation fueled by intoxication seen in the roadway in front of the bar; a known person was seen as officer’s arrived, and saw that person leaving with four others getting into the female’s vehicle, but no physical altercation reported by either of the two females, or by any patrons of the tavern; the people involved were moved along.
