GREENFIELD — The owner of China Gourmet said he plans to reopen the restaurant today after closing it for two weeks while water damage from a burst pipe was repaired.

The pipe burst during the extremely cold weather several weeks ago, causing damage throughout the kitchen, food preparation and bar area.

“We already fixed everything,” owner Sam Chang said, adding that the building inspector and health department cleared the building Friday.

“They allowed us to reopen again,” he said.

Chang said because the restaurant was closed for so long, he had to throw away a lot of food, but said he’s looking forward to reopening.

“Now we’re trying to get back onto our feet again,” he said.
