We just had a lovely time at Harvey’s Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge in Turners Falls, the new venture of chef Evelyn Wulfkuhle (Hope & Olive, Magpie). The space, once DiPaolo’s and then a sports bar, has been remade into a cozy, charming bistro. In the rear is a comfy lounge and attractive bar, offering a fun and creative cocktail list, and in the front are regular tables. Our window table was cheery with Christmas lights aglow along Avenue A. The food — a vast array of small plates, mostly gluten free — is as delicious as you would expect with Wulfkuhle in charge, who told us she planned her menu based on ingredients and flavors she longs for but can’t easily find. Our order came in record time and our server, Perri, was just delightful. We’re sorry we didn’t know about Harvey’s sooner and thought others should hear about it.
