‘How to Love a Forest’ reading set for Friday

SHELBURNE FALLS — Vermont author and forester Ethan Tapper will read from his debut novel, “How to Love a Forest,” at Raven Used Books on Conway Street on Friday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m.

The book follows Tapper’s own journey caring for Bear Island Tree Farm, which he purchased in Bolton, Vermont, in 2017. He said he was inspired to write about his experience in the forest after “realizing that there was no book that captured his understanding of what forests are, how they work and what it means to care for them.”
