March 29: Ren Faire Night coming to brewery

SHELBURNE FALLS — Floodwater Brewing Co. at 40 State St. will host a Ren Faire Night on Saturday, March 29.

Beginning at 7 p.m., the brewery will welcome the Ye Olde Tavern band featuring local musicians Dan Grip, Alex Korolov and Colleen Stanton for a night of music and merriment. There will also be a costume contest, so guests should come dressed to impress.

Eveline MacDougall presents songs, stories at library

HEATH — Join local author Eveline MacDougall for songs, stories and a sneak peek into her next book at the Heath Free Public Library on Saturday, April 5, at 4 p.m.

MacDougall will share stories from her book “Fiery Hope: Building Community with the Amandla Chorus,” as well as stories from the book she is working on now. She will be accompanied by musical guest John Clark.

Hawley plans Mud Party for April 6

HAWLEY — The Sons and Daughters of Hawley, the town’s historical society, will host the annual Mud Party on Sunday, April 6, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 84 Middle Road.

Hawley residents are invited to celebrate the beginning of spring and the start of mud season with a party and potluck. Bring an appetizer, entree, dessert or side. Mud-colored treats are encouraged, but not required.

Tyler Memorial Library celebrating National Library Week

CHARLEMONT — National Library Week is April 6 to April 12, and to celebrate, Tyler Memorial Library will host an open house from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12.

Community members can stop by the library at 157 Main St. to peruse the stacks of books and learn about the resources available through the library, including e-books, magazines, DVDs, and museum and state park passes.

Belding Memorial Library holding pysanky workshop

ASHFIELD — Participants can learn about the rich Ukrainian tradition of pysanky — decorating Easter eggs using wax and dye — during two workshops at Belding Memorial Library.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 13, Alex Osterman and Mary Link will lead participants through the process of decorating eggs. Attendees are advised to come dressed to get messy.
