DEERFIELD — Stillwater Road will be closed to all traffic from Upper Road/Stillwater Bridge to Hoosac Road on Tuesday, April 22, and Wednesday, April 23, for tree removal between houses 193 and 197.
Northern Tree Service will be on the road removing trees for Eversource’s ongoing grid enhancement project. The entire road will be blocked from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
Emergency access to houses 193 and lower, as well as Hoosac Road, will only be accessible from Conway and Lee roads.
DEERFIELD — The citizens group Engage: Deerfield will host “Your Voice, Your Choice,” a meet-the-candidates event on Thursday, April 24, to encourage voting in the town election on May 5.
This nonpartisan forum will provide voters with the opportunity to hear directly from candidates, ask questions and learn about their positions on issues impacting the community. Participants will get to meet candidates running for the following town positions: assessor, Elector Under the Will of Oliver Smith, Planning Board, School Committee, Selectboard and constable.
The event will be held at the Deerfield Community Center, 16 Memorial St., at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, but a $5 donation to support the civic engagement series is appreciated. For more information, visit engagedeerfield.org.
SUNDERLAND — The town will hold early voting hours for the annual town election beginning April 28.
Early voting will be available on Monday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Wednesday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and Thursday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to noon. Early voting will be offered at the Town Clerk’s Office, 12 School St.

The annual town election, which has no contested races, is set for Saturday, May 3, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sunderland Public Library, 20 School St.
SUNDERLAND — On Saturday, April 26, the Sunderland Democratic Town Committee will convene a caucus to elect three delegates and three alternates to participate in the Democratic State Convention. The caucus will be held at the Sunderland Public Library, 20 School St., from 10 a.m. to noon.
The 2025 Massachusetts State Democratic Convention will be in person on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the MassMutual Center in Springfield.
Registered and pre-registered Democrats in Sunderland, who turn 16 years old by March 29, may vote and be elected as delegates or alternates during the caucus. People can register that day, prior to the start of the caucus. Interested youths and young adults ages 16 to 35, people with disabilities, people of color and members of the LGBTQ community who are not elected as delegates or alternates are encouraged to apply for be “add-on delegates” at the caucus or by visiting massdems.org/caucus.

The event will be held at the church, 177 Chestnut Plain Road, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be vintage and antique goods, estate items, china sets, jewelry, housewares and Lionel trains. Additionally, there will be hanging flowers from Fairview Farms and homemade baked goods.
