Grab your tunics and chain mail – Red Apple Farm is getting ready to host The NorthFolk Night Market!

The farm on Highland Avenue will transform into a lively Viking marketplace from 3 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 22 and 23, with a lineup of experiences steeped in culture, craft and festive spirit. Vendors will showcase unique crafts and artisan goods and ancient arts will come to life with live blacksmith demonstrations and cooking showcases, providing a glimpse into the historic Viking lifestyle. There will also be interactive shows celebrating the epic saga of Beowulf and other mythical narratives.

“I think we’re going to really knock it out of the park,” said Nancy Rose, who co-owns the farm with her husband, Al.

The night sky will be aglow with the warm light of fireside gatherings, complete with fairy courts, engaging performances, and wandering trolls. The Brew Barn, TimberFire Pizza and a slew of food trucks will be on hand, as will house-made hard ciders from The Cidery.

The event is made possible by FaeGuild Wonders, the brainchild of Richard and Rajuli Fahey, who proposed and orchestrated the successful Renaissance fair the farm hosted in May.

“That was a lot of fun and very successful for a first-year Renaissance fair,” said Richard Fahey, a college professor with a doctorate in medieval studies and medieval literature.

Rajuli, who has a bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, said the Roses are great collaborators and “so open to ideas.”

“I’m just looking forward to seeing all of these different worlds collide,” she said.
