If you’ve ever thought about buying an electric bike, now could be the time. The Massachusetts E-Bike Voucher Program is now in effect. The program assists low-and moderate-income Massachusetts residents by providing a voucher that dramatically reduces the cost of an e-bike. The program will award approximately 500 vouchers each month from April to September. Residents can apply during a two-week period each month.

If selected through a random process, participants will need to upload documents to verify their eligibility. Vouchers will cover up to $1,200 for applicants with an income at or below 225% of the federal poverty Line, or up to $800 for applicants with an income at or below 400% of the federal poverty line (which depends on income and family size, and can be found online).

There also will be equipment vouchers of up to $150 to cover safety gear and a bike pump. Franklin County Continuing the Political Revolution (fccpr.us) is publicizing this program as one way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while providing affordable electrified transportation for low‑ and moderate‑income Massachusetts residents.
