Next puzzle swap set for Jan. 4

NORTHFIELD — Free used puzzles will be available at Dickinson Memorial Library on Saturday, Jan. 4, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Attendees are advised to park in the back and enter through the side door of the library. Turn left to find the Community Room.

Participants are invited to take as many puzzles as they want, and can keep them as long as they need. The puzzle swap is offered monthly.

Make winter-themed cards with Barb King

NORTHFIELD — Barb King will lead a class on making a variety of winter-themed cards at the Northfield Senior Center on Tuesday, Jan. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The cost is $8 to make two cards or $12 to make three cards.

Participants must RSVP as soon as possible by calling 413-498-2901, ext. 123.

Jan. 8: Next monthly meal

NORTHFIELD — The Northfield Senior Center’s monthly meal for January will consist of stir-fried chicken and vegetables over coconut-curry rice. The meal, by reservation only, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 12:30 p.m.

Happy Feet walkers head to GCC

NORTHFIELD — The Happy Feet walking group will meet at Greenfield Community College on Monday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m.

Seniors with a walker or wheelchair and who have a caregiver, friend or family member to assist them are encouraged to attend. Dogs on leashes are welcome.

The walk will be canceled in the event of icy conditions.

Sean Callaghan to perform at Bernardston Senior Center

BERNARDSTON — Sean Callaghan will play guitar and sing at the Bernardston Senior Center on Monday, Jan. 13, at 3 p.m. This event is also available on Zoom.

My Art Company workshops focus on acrylics

BERNARDSTON — My Art Company will host a pair of workshops on mini still lifes and painting with acrylics on Tuesdays, Jan. 14 and Jan. 21, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Participants will learn about composition and lighting, and review color mixing with acrylics. Space is limited to 10 people per workshop. Early sign-up is advised by calling 413-648-5413, but interested attendees are asked to only sign up for only one workshop. There is a $5 class fee.

Talk to explore Medicare Advantage plans

NORTHFIELD — Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts representative Rory Joyce will discuss Medicare Advantage plans during a talk at the Northfield Senior Center on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m.

This talk comes during open enrollment for Medicare Advantage plans. Attendees will learn about Medicare Advantage plans, hear about the differences between HMOs and PPOs, get a closer look at the plans available through Blue Cross Blue Shield, and discover the cost-sharing and extra benefits associated with these plans.
