GREENFIELD — After roughly three months at the helm of Newton School, Principal Sadie Cora announced her resignation, effective Nov. 27, in an email to parents Thursday morning.

Cora was hired as principal in August, following former Principal Darlene Rehor’s departure. Although Cora declined to comment further on her resignation, she wrote in her email that her departure was for “personal reasons.”

“The district has posted for the position and is working diligently to find the right leader for Newton Elementary. Our goal is to have no interruption to the learning process and for the transition to be as seamless as possible,” Cora wrote. “For now, Assistant Superintendent Stephen Sullivan and Assistant Director of Pupil Services Elaine Mount will share the role of school principal after Nov. 27 until the district can find the right person, ensuring that we have the right stability and support for your children.”
