ASHFIELD — Highland Ambulance transported a motorcyclist to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton with non-life-threatening injuries on Friday afternoon after a crash near 1234 Conway Road, according to Ashfield Fire Chief Kyle Walker.
State Police blocked the portion of Conway Road near the intersection with Burton Hill Road at approximately 2:30 p.m. as Highland Ambulance personnel and Ashfield firefighters responded.
A friend who was riding with the motorcyclist at the time of the crash identified her as a 21-year-old woman on a Honda sports-style motorcycle. The friend, who did not wish to be identified, said the woman turned the corner “a little too fast,” lost control of her motorcycle and flew off.
Walker said first responders initially called for a helicopter landing zone to be set up to have the motorcyclist airlifted to the hospital, but firefighters canceled the request.
