Feb. 10: Second annual Cookie Walk

MONTAGUE — The First Congregational Church of Montague, 4 North St., will host its second annual Valentine’s Cookie Walk on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For a fee, attendees are given a container and can choose which cookies they would like to take home. There are also children’s activities, crafts and flowers available for purchase.

Brick House starting drop-in hours

TURNERS FALLS — Beginning Feb. 1, The Brick House Community Resource Center at 24 Third St. will be open for drop-in hours twice a week: Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Community members can stop in to learn about resources, receive support with obtaining services or just find out more about The Brick House’s programs.

Astrology group starts Feb. 6

ERVING — The Erving Public Library is offering an astrology group for adults with Mara Bright on Tuesdays from Feb. 6 to March 12. Sessions will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Attendees are asked to RSVP and plan to attend the entire series.

Library hosting PJ Storytime

ERVING — The Erving Public Library will host a PJ Storytime for children up to 8 years old on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 6 to 6:45 p.m.

Feb. 11: Puzzle Swap

ERVING — The Erving Public Library’s next all-ages Puzzle Swap will be held on Sunday, Feb. 11, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Exhibit on display through Feb. 23

TURNERS FALLS — The Great Falls Discovery Center’s exhibit “On the Ground and in the Air and in Between” by artist Amy Dawn Kotel will be on display in the Great Hall through Feb. 23.

The exhibit asks viewers: “What do we see and how do we perceive our Earth and all who dwell here?” Attendees are invited to see beauty and strangeness from different angles.

A reception with Kotel will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. The event will include music and food.

Winter animal homes topic of children’s program

TURNERS FALLS — Children ages 3 to 6, accompanied by a parent or guardian, are invited to the Great Falls Discovery Center on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for “Where are all the Animals Hiding?”

Children can learn how animals stay snug and warm for winter by investigating hidden winter animal homes through stories, crafts and activities. Weather permitting, attendees may explore outside.

Make Valentines at Discovery Center

TURNERS FALLS — The Great Falls Discovery Center is hosting a program for all ages called “Who Do You Love? Valentines for Wildlife” on Sunday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Attendees can make Valentine’s Day cards to give to loved ones or give to their favorite wildlife biologist in honor of their favorite animal.

Feb. 17 program focused on maple syrup

TURNERS FALLS — The Great Falls Discovery Center will host “Sweeten Up! A Maple Syrup Adventure” on Saturday, Feb. 17, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The event is geared toward children ages 6 to 10.

Attendees will learn about the transformation of tree sap into maple syrup through crafts and activities.

Tracking exercise planned for Feb. 24

TURNERS FALLS — The Great Falls Discovery Center will host “Who’s Been Here? A Tracking Adventure” on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Children ages 3 to 8, accompanied by a parent or guardian, can learn what creatures have been outside in the snow by investigating the mysterious signs that wildlife leave behind. Siblings and friends are welcome.
