Church hostingpancake breakfast

MONTAGUE CENTER — A pancake breakfast will be held at the First Congregational Church of Montague at 4 North St. on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m.

Pancakes made from scratch will be served with real maple syrup. Bacon, fruit sauce, juice, coffee and tea will be served as well. The breakfast will cost $10 at the door.

Tracy & Company to perform at brewery

TURNERS FALLS — Pioneer Valley Brewery at 151 Third St. will host an outdoor beer garden, live classic rock and R&B music by Tracy & Company, and the Mohawk Falafel and Shawarma food truck on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

In the event of rain, activities will be moved inside. Non-alcoholic beer and other beverages are also available.

The brewery’s “Summer of Songs” program is sponsored by Nova Motorcycles, RiverCulture, the Massachusetts Cultural Council and Greenfield Cooperative Bank.

Bike path closed due to FirstLight maintenance

TURNERS FALLS — FirstLight Hydro Generating Co. is conducting maintenance on the Turners Falls Power Canal Dike, shutting down the bike path.

The portion of the bike path between 11th Street and Depot Street will be closed until early October to allow for maintenance work. A detour is available via Montague City Road with signs posted.

Erving Senior Center hosting lunchtime bingo

ERVING — The Erving Senior Center is hosting a lunchtime bingo event on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 11:30 a.m. at 1 Care Drive.

Learn floral design at Senior Center

ERVING — A floral design workshop will be held at the Erving Senior Center on Monday, Aug. 26, at 1 p.m.

Teresa Foster from Erving’s Dry Brook Garden will come to the center at 1 Care Drive to help participants create floral arrangements. A fee of $10 covers all the materials that will be provided.
