Montague Police Logs: Oct. 31 to Nov. 3, 2024

1:08 p.m. — Reporting party advises his unoccupied vehicle located in the parking lot of Food City on Avenue A was struck by a gray Dodge Ram approximately five minutes ago. His vehicle is a silver 2018 Ford Mustang convertible. Officer advising there is a smudge on the driver’s side rear quarter panel of the vehicle’s bumper. Reporting party was able to wipe the smudges off his car.
5:15 p.m. — Report of a subject in a “Jason” costume carrying what appears to be a real, large knife. The presence of the knife was alarming several patrons of The Rendezvous. Knife described as being larger than a butcher knife. Subject was not waving or threatening with the knife at the time he was observed. Last seen turning from Third Street onto L Street walking up the hill toward Seventh Street. Officers checked the area, unable to locate.
12:03 p.m. — Caller near Cabot Camp on East Mineral Road reports there is a man with a young girl fishing in the area. She finds this suspicious as the girl should be in school. Officer advised.
12:07 p.m. — Caller from Millers Falls Road reports his wife is on the phone with the Springfield Police Department. His wife was told there’s a warrant out for her arrest for missing a court date on a murder charge, and if she doesn’t send $3,500, she will be arrested. Caller was advised this is a scam and the phone number should be blocked.
7:30 p.m. — Caller on Third Street reports her 14-year-old daughter was smacked in the face at the skate park about 40 minutes earlier. Caller wanted to report the incident. No medical attention needed. Caller was advised of options, school resource officer notified.
9:18 p.m. — Reporting party from Turners Falls Road states there is a neighbor having a fire outside and it’s starting to threaten her house. Officer advised.
9:37 p.m. — Officer checking on a suspicious vehicle on Cross Street. Male party waiting for his wife. No police service necessary.
1:20 a.m. — Off-duty firefighter reports a large bonfire in the area of 200 Turners Falls Road. Requests someone check on it due to the size and it being a red flag day. Referred to the Shelburne Control Dispatch Center.
