It was a successful tournament for the host Franklin Tech wrestling team over the weekend.

Competing against Southwick, Granby, Worcester Tech and Holyoke in Turners on Saturday, the Eagles managed to walk out with a 3-1 record following win over Southwick (41-40), Granby (63-15) and Worcester Tech (71-12). The Purple Knights (54-24) were the lone team to defeat the Eagles.

Against Southwick, Paul Giard (113), Carsten Couture (120), Connor Herzig (144), Travis Eastman (175), Jackson Morey (190), Seamus Collins (215) and Hunter Parker (285) secured wins for Franklin Tech while Couture, Maxon Brunette (126), Herzig, Benjamin Baker (157) and Collins earned wins against Granby.

Johnathan McIntyre (106), Brunette, Cam Bonnett (150), Baker, Morey and Collins won against Worcester Tech while Brunette and Eastman were the lone victors against Holyoke.

Indoor track

The fifth PVIAC indoor track meet of the season took place on Sunday at Smith College, with Frontier, Greenfield and Pioneer competing in the early meet while Athol and Mohawk Trail competed in the late window.

George Bodzinski, Finnegan Connelly and Samuel Edson scored while Nicolas Brisson had an assist in FCHA 10U’s 3-2 win over Holy Name over the weekend. FCHA 10U also lost to the Yellow Jackets, 1-0, this weekend.
