I enjoyed reading the “Tradeswomen of Tomorrow” article [Recorder, Oct. 29], which talked about what Franklin County Technical School is doing to support girls’ exploration of traditionally male-dominated fields such as manufacturing and engineering, horticulture and landscaping, and automotive technology.

I would love to also see FCTS or some other entity offer a similar opportunity to support boys’ exploration of traditionally female-dominated fields such as nursing, social work, and early childhood education. I think that the world would be a better place if people of all genders felt equally comfortable exploring all fields, and if they all paid a living wage.
