I want to applaud the Recorder for publishing the wonderfully truthful My Turn on Oct. 8 by Matteo Pangallo that underscores why Question 2 on the ballot unquestionably is a “yes” vote [”MCAS testing requirement imposes constraints, not standards”].

More then that, Pangallo tells us what our teachers and students continue to be up against with the MCAS and backers in the business community, and the “no” vote endorsement of the Boston Globe for many years.

I also want to note to the Recorder that their lead story on Oct. 9 [“MCAS scores moving target across districts”], complete with colorful graphics, make the score reporting about MCAS results look like competitive sports scores, rather than numbers identifying the complexity of students and family situations, and unequal property tax and state support for different school districts.
