After the April 5 standout, I got to thinking … It was great to see everyone who was unhappy with Trump standing out, but did he see us? And did he get a message about why you were standing out?
I have received many suggestions urging me to make calls and send emails to our state and federal reps, and wondered why aren’t we all emailing and calling Trump? And maybe you are. But if not I urge you to read on.
I googled “Send a message to Trump” and for some reason I found it confusing! And some of the suggested links led me to dead ends.
I finally found https//:www.whitehouse.gov and got Trump’s White House website. To contact him, go to the upper left corner drop down and choose “get in touch.” Once there, you can click “contact” and get a form to fill in.
You have to reveal who you are and where you live. I am willing to take the risk that someone might come to arrest or deport me, so I filled it in.
I asked Trump to stop breaking the law! And to Honor all contracts that the federal government has signed — funds that were legally appropriated and committed to many hard-working Americans.
I focused on farmers, and requested that his administration immediately release all USDA funding without further delay, although I know many other contracts are broken, and people have been fired. I received acknowledgment that my comment had been received, so the system is working.
It felt good to send him a message, even though I know he won’t see it, and it won’t make a difference. However, If everyone who stood out on April 5 submitted a comment that would reinforce our message.
