Conor Power: Trump is amazing (in a bad way)

In less than a month, President Donald Trump has changed our country from the defender of the free world and democracy into a pariah nation aligned with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s despicable regime. Trump has alienated and demeaned our neighbors and threatened our allies in Europe. He is intent on extorting Ukraine’s minerals and rights while blaming Ukraine for starting the war, all because his ego was damaged when President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would not perform an illegal act for him.

In short, he lives in an imaginary world where he is always right; he is mentally sick and unbalanced. Trump has always favored autocrats and dictators, and he now thinks he can be one in our country. He now calls himself king and acts like one, especially with cruel behavior.

Anyone who disagrees with him, even in a small way, is immediately fired or subjected to verbal abuse. The coward Republicans in Congress are loath to speak out about his behavior for fear of being primaried. Meanwhile, Trump is destroying our country’s values and morals with his traitorous acts.

At least half the nation can refuse to go down his path. We will proudly go on a different “fork in the road.”
