GREENFIELD — Innovintage Place, an antique and artisan collective at 76 Hope St., is holding a sale to clear out merchandise in preparation for a month-long closure due to construction.
The store will be closed throughout the month of October amid renovations throughout the whole building that will include tearing out the walls and replacing the insulation, said Innovintage Place owner Skye Wellington. The shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend, with items on sale ranging from 25% to more than 50% off, before closing.
“It’s a bit of nightmare for me,” Wellington said. “I’m trying to be as positive as I can but I don’t know how we’re going to cope financially.”
Wellington said October through December is the busy season for her store, which opened six years ago. After an especially slow summer, she said she was depending on holiday season sales to help boost the business.
Still, Wellington said she is excited to get to redesign the space when it comes time to rebuild. She’s not sure what the final product will look like, but she plans to lean into the vintage factory aesthetic.
Wellington urges her customers to visit the store’s Facebook page for updates, noting that she hopes she might be able to open in a limited capacity during construction and reopen fully as soon as November. Additionally, she created a GoFundMe at tinyurl.com/InnovintageGoFundMe for those interested in helping keep her business afloat during this time.
