The Frontier girls volleyball capped its regular season in winning fashion on Friday night.

On the road at Ludlow, the Redhawks handled their business en route to a 25-17, 25-18, 25-11 independent sweep over the Lions. Frontier improved to 14-5 on the season and now awaits its seeding and matchup in next week’s Western Mass. Class B Tournament.

Gabby Adams put down a team-high eight kills in the win, while Caroline Deane followed with four kills. Rozalyn Schempp and Olivia Machone had three kills each, and setters Allie Pierce (11 assists) and Parrish Stilla (seven assists) spread the ball around as eight different Frontier players recorded at least one kill.

Pierce paced the service attack with six aces, and the defense was paced by Adams’ five digs.

Pioneer 3, Hampden Charter West 1 — The Panthers shook off an opening-set loss with three straight frames to score a key independent victory on Friday night at Messer Gymnasium in Northfield.

Pioneer improved to 5-11 to close out its regular season slate.

Girls soccer

Holyoke 4, Greenfield 0 — After a scoreless first half, the host Purple Knights broke through with four goals in the second half en route to the 4-0 independent win.

Greenfield goalie Annie Cobileanschi made 13 saves.

Four Rivers 7, Eagle Hill 3 — Stella Langlands pumped in five goals, including a hat trick before halftime, to lift the Otters to a decisive River Valley Athletic League win on Friday.

Juna Gradick scored her first goal of the season for Four Rivers, and Sylvia Guillaume also found the back of the net.

Four Rivers will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming RVAL playoffs, which begin the week of Oct. 30.

Hopkins 2, Mahar 1 — Golden Hawks forward Helen Vissas netted two goals less than 10 minutes apart late in the second half to spark a come-from-behind win over the Senators. Olivia Earle recorded the assist on both of Vissas’ scores.
