HS Roundup: Hayden Comeau’s 17 points leads Mahar past Pathfinder, 53-25

Mahar’s Hayden Comeau had herself a day against the Pathfinder girls basketball team on Thursday.
Comeau finished with 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lift the Senators to a 53-25 non-playoff win in Orange.
Mahar (8-12) led 37-19 at the half.
Taylor Paluk scored 13 points and added 11 boards, Thea Whitmore tallied nine points, Julia Hatch scored seven points while Haylee Paluk added four points in the victory.
Non-playoff games
Athol 67, Hampden Charter 46 — Ben Kearney scored 14 of his 23 points in the opening quarter, helping the Bears build a 22-6 lead after eight minutes before earning a non-playoff win at Mallet Gymnasium on Thursday.
Ethan Goodwin tossed in 16 points, Dom St. Andre tallied nine points, Ethan Bacigalupo scored eight points while Brandon Adams added seven points in the win for Athol (13-7).

Duggan 47, Franklin Tech 45 — Entering with a 9-10 record, the Eagles needed a win to seal a spot in the state tournament but the Jayhawks didn’t allow that to happen. Duggan led 38-33 going into the fourth and held on late to knock off Tech in Springfield Wednesday.
Hannah Gilbert scored 17 points to go along with 12 rebounds and nine steals, Lili Inman tallied seven points and seven rebounds, Abi Dobias finished with six points while Madyson Lynde added five points in the loss.
