HS Roundup: Greenfield boys tennis falls to SICS, 3-2, (PHOTOS)

The spring sports season got underway on Thursday, with the Greenfield boys tennis team making its return to the courts after last having a team in 2021.
The Wave hosted SICS and gave the Bulldogs a run for their money, though SICS was able to walk away with a narrow 3-2 victory at the Davis Street Courts.
Palmer King opened with a win for the Green Wave, picking up a 6-2, 6-0 triumph in No. 1 singles. Senior Shane Toomey also recorded a win for the Wave, walking away with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in No. 2 singles.
Pope Francis 5, Turners 0 — Nethanel Martin and Max Briere dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision in No. 1 doubles for the Thunder, who fell to the Cardinals in Springfield on Thursday.
Frontier 11, Southwick 2 — The Redhawks came out firing to open the season, putting six runs on the board in the opening two innings to walk away with a victory over the Rams in Southwick on Thursday.
Freshman Henry Drinker went 3-4 with a double and three RBIs, Austin D’Urso knocked a pair of hits and scored twice, Jack Cusson doubled in a pair of runs, Ben Caron knocked a hit and drove in a run while Kaden James and Joey Hutkoski added hits in the victory.
Max Skribiski-Banack got the start and struck out three in three innings work while Carter Miller got the Redhawks out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth to keep Frontier in the lead.
Chicopee Comp 3, Frontier 0 — Nate Rivera and Tegan Dexter both put down seven kills for the Redhawks, who fell to the Colts 25-22, 25-17, 25-13 on Thursday in Chicopee.
