HS Roundup: Frontier girls tennis wins fourth in a row following 4-1 victory over Lee

Make it four wins in a row for the Frontier girls tennis team. 

Taking on Lee Friday, Ella Sibley won at No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-2) while Aylen Shaw took No. 3 singles (6-1, 6-1) in the Redhawks’ 4-1 road victory in Lee. 

Esther Ehle and Jamin Ahn won in No. 1 doubles (6-2, 6-1) while Brooke Charest and Eleanor Wade took No. 2 doubles (6-2, 6-1) for Frontier. 

Baseball

Frontier 9, Easthampton 5 — It was a big fourth inning for the Redhawks in South Deerfield, as Braeden Dion, Collin West and Brady Poreda got things going with base hits before Shawn Baumann, Ben Caron and Austin D’Urso (2) drove in runs, helping Frontier earn a Suburban League West win on Friday. 

Max Skribiski-Banack got the win, striking out four and not allowing a run in 4 2/3 innings work. Henry Drinker singled and drove in a run while Dion, Baumann and West each recorded multiple hits in the victory. 

Jason Sigda and Brayden O’Connor each hit safely while Jake Kostek and Christian D’Onofrio drove in runs for Easthampton. 

Lenox 7, Turners 4 — Julian Kaiser went the distance and struck out 12 for the Thunder, but the Millionaires scored two in the fifth and two in the seventh to knock off host Turners on Friday. 

Jackson Cogswell cracked two hits and drove in a run, Kaiser and Freilyn Jose Abarua both knocked two hits while Trevor Lyons had a hit and an RBI in the loss for the Thunder.

Belchertown 21, Athol 12 — Ally Robertson knocked three hits, one a double, and drove in three runs for the Bears in an independent loss to the Orioles in Athol on Friday. 

Jaylynn Chapalonis homered, singled and drove in two, Madi Hermes and Ella Reed each knocked two hits while Morgan Bailey drove in a run with a single for Athol. 

Pioneer 22, Mahar 5 (6) — The Panthers totaled 17 runs in the fifth and sixth to earn a Franklin County League East win over the Senators in Orange on Friday. 

Maggie Tsipenyuk finished with three hits and three RBIs, Kaelynn Chabot doubled to drive in two, Luci Burnap cracked a hit and drove in four runs, Jaelyn Boliski and Jacobia Tyminski each had two hits and two RBIs while Greta Lewis had a hit and two RBIs in the win for Pioneer. 

Carly Paluk had two his in the loss for Mahar. 

Taconic 14, Mohawk Trail 3 — Emmalee Inman singled and tripled for the Warriors in a loss to the Thunder in Buckland on Friday. 

Megan Gabree knocked two hits, Riley Dyer tripled, Addie Loomis singled while Grace Stevens struck out four for Mohawk Trail. 

Boys volleyball

Athol 3, Ware, 1 — The Bears snapped a six-match skid on Friday by knocking off Ware () at Mallet Gymnasium. 

Boys tennis

Greenfield 3, Hampden Charter 2 — Devonne Brown won in No. 2 singles (4-6, 6-4, 7-5), and the Green Wave took both doubles matches via forfeit in a win at the Davis Street Courts on Friday.
