The following is a collection of programs being offered by the Greenfield Recreation Department in the coming months:

Youth Basketball Pee Wee Division

Pee wee basketball is a skills and drills program for players in kindergarten and first grade. This program will help teach the fundamentals of the game, including shooting, passing, dribbling and rules. Volunteer coaches will lead players through skills and drills as well as scrimmages that will help boost their overall skill development, coordination and self-confidence. Sessions — available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. at the Discovery School at Four Corners from Jan. 7 to March 6 — may be combined based on enrollment.

Codes: 30520A Tuesdays, 30520B Wednesdays or 30520C Thursdays.

Cost: $45 for residents or $55 for non-residents. The registration deadline is Dec. 20, with a $5 late fee.

Junior Division Basketball Travel League

This is a recreational travel league program for players of all skill levels in grades two and three, with an emphasis on good sportsmanship and having fun. Volunteer coaches will guide players through practice and drills that will help improve their skills, coordination and self-confidence. Boys and girls teams may be combined based on enrollment. Practices at Federal Street School will be held twice a week, with a schedule to be determined, between Dec. 2 and Feb. 28. Games, held throughout the region, will be held on Saturdays beginning in January.

Codes: 30521A (boys) and 30521B (girls).

Cost: After Nov. 15, the cost is $70 for residents or $80 for non-residents.

Amazing Race – Jinglefest Edition

Jinglefest is just around the corner and the Recreation Department is once again offering the Amazing Race: Jinglefest Edition, a free event full of festive clues and challenges that will have teams dashing through downtown. Holiday gifts

Gift certificates are available for purchase in the Recreation Department’s office at 20 Sanderson St. Gift certificates can be purchased in any amount and can be used for all programs the Recreation Department offers as well as for season passes to the Green River Swimming and Recreation Area.
