FCCPR to welcome state auditor for talk on Question 1

GREENFIELD — Franklin County Continuing the Political Revolution (FCCPR) will host State Auditor Diana DiZoglio at the Guiding Star Grange, at 401 Chapman St., on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. Her talk is open to the public and free to attend.

DiZoglio is the sponsor of Question 1 on the November ballot in Massachusetts. Question 1 asks voters whether the auditor should be allowed to investigate the state Legislature, overseeing and evaluating at least some of its activities. DiZoglio is partway through a 141-mile walk across the state to generate support for Question 1.

The ballot question is supported by FCCPR.

“While some legislative activities would still be off-limits to inspection by the auditor, FCCPR believes that the Massachusetts Legislature lacks transparency and is sufficiently dysfunctional that any additional oversight is welcome,” FCCPR member Dave Cohen said in a statement.

DiZoglio’s talk is part of FCCPR’s fall General Assembly and will be followed by a question-and-answer period and discussion about some of the other ballot questions Massachusetts voters will be asked to consider next month.
