The inaugural Golf Tournament to Benefit Turners Falls High School Baseball is scheduled for May 10 at Thomas Memorial. 

The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. The cost is $90 per person or $360 per team. Registration includes a golf cart, cash prizes and hot dogs on the course. Proceeds from the tournament will go toward funding dugouts for the baseball fields at Turners Falls High School.

Hoop Shoot

The Western Mass. section of the Knights of Columbus Hoop Shoot took place last weekend at Franklin County’s YMCA, with a number of locals earning victories. 

Winners on the girls side were West Springfield’s Nora Sweet in the age nine group, Greenfield’s Savannah Thomas in the age 10 group, Southwick’s Lexi Goebel in the age 11 group, West Springfield’s Addsion LaBare in the age 12 group, West Springfield’s Abigail Erving in the age 13 group and West Springfield’s Leila Dejesus in the age 14 group. 

Winners on the boys side were Athol’s Lucas Boucher in the age nine group, Athol’s Austin Lyesiuk in the age 10 group, West Springfield’s Jackson Ropie in the age 11 group, Southwick’s Ryon Kgruwald in the age 12 group, Athol’s Ashton Danistorn in the age 13 group and Pittsfield’s Wylie Drsnoyers in the age 14 group.
