After a 6-0 start to the season, the Franklin Tech football team suffered its first loss on Friday, putting the Intercounty League North title race up for grabs in the process.

Taking on Ware in a road game, the Eagles scored the opening touchdown of the game in the first quarter but Ware did not allow Tech to reach the end zone a second time. Ware tied the game before the quarter came to a close and punched in a touchdown in the second to take a 13-6 lead at the half.

Ware (5-2, 3-1) tacked on a touchdown in the fourth quarter to walk away with a 20-6 victory.

Josiah Little scored the lone touchdown of the game for the Eagles, which dropped to 6-1 overall, 3-1 in the league. Little rushed for 56 yards on 15 carries, while Nathan Sabolevski added 49 yards on six totes. Quarterback Tyler Yetter finished 3-for-7 for 20 yards through the air, and Wyatt Whitman amassed a team-high eight tackles.

Ware and Athol are also 3-1 in the IL North, and the trio would share league title honors if they all win next week.

Franklin Tech closes out its regular season next Friday hosting Mahar.
