The Athol football team has made going 2-0 look easy.

After cruising to a 48-16 win over Murdock in their opener last week, the Bears followed it up with a 40-0 triumph over Pathfinder on Friday in Thorndike.

Aaron Oullet set the tone on the first play of the game, taking the opening kickoff to the house to give Athol the early lead.

It was the Aidan Melanson show from there. The senior finished with four touchdown passes, hitting Hayden Barrieau for a 45-yard score, Raydin Sousa for touchdowns of 50 and 20 yards and closed things out with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Ouellet.

Barrieau closed out the scoring with a 10-yard touchdown run.

Athol takes on Lee next Friday in its home opener, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at O’Brien Field.
