SOUTH DEERFIELD — The Deerfield Police Department is investigating a crash Thursday night that resulted in one driver following another to her Conway residence after she left the scene.

Police Chief John Paciorek Jr. said officers were dispatched to the area of the Elm Street railroad crossing in South Deerfield at 8:53 p.m. for a report of a white Honda Accord fleeing the scene of a crash with its front bumper hanging off. He said the woman driving the Honda, which was traveling west in the eastbound lane, was being followed by the driver whose vehicle had been struck.

“There was no police pursuit, only the struck vehicle had followed the operator back to her residence in Conway,” Paciorek said. “Our units arrived shortly after the vehicle pulled into their driveway.”

Massachusetts State Police assisted the Deerfield Police Department at the Conway residence, but Deerfield will continue its investigation, according to Paciorek.

The woman was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield for treatment of minor injuries, while the other driver reported no injuries. Upon conclusion of the Deerfield Police Department’s investigation, Paciorek said whatever charges are deemed appropriate will be filed with Greenfield District Court.
