WARWICK — Two people, a driver and her passenger, were transported to Athol Hospital following a two-car collision at the intersection of Wendell Road and Quarry Road shortly before noon Thursday.
According to Massachusetts State Police and Erving Police Chief Christopher Blair, a woman from Orange was driving a silver Hyundai Elantra north on Wendell Road. Just before a bend to the right in Wendell Road, she made a left turn onto Quarry Road.
At the same time, a woman from Warwick was driving a yellow Jeep Wrangler south around the bend on Wendell Road. Police said the Warwick driver had the right of way. The two vehicles collided, causing significant damage to the Hyundai’s passenger side doors and knocking out both passenger side windows.
The driver from Orange and a younger passenger in her car were transported by Orange EMS to Athol Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
According to Blair, who responded to the scene, the woman from Orange will be cited for failure to use care while turning.
Police are unable to provide the identity of those involved or any further information about their condition at this time.
The Hyundai Elantra was towed by Jim’s Auto of Orange.
