■Shutesbury Community Church will postpone reopening for the time being, according to the Rev. Mark Ellis. “The church council met last night to discuss the matter and decided to watch the trends in COVID-19 cases over the next couple of weeks as the state begins to reopen. We will meet again on June 8 to determine if we should then reopen. In the meantime, all of our offerings can be viewed on facebook.com/shutesburychurch.”
■St. John’s Episcopal Church, Ashfield, is following the bishop’s directive to suspend in-person services until at least July 1, according to the Rev. Victoria Ix. “July 1 is the earliest but our return to worship in our building depends on several criteria that must be met. We received guidelines this week for our leadership to use as we plan what in-person worship might look like in a pandemic. The priority is the health and safety of our members and our community. We will continue to worship and work online as we have for the past two months.”
■An update on Greenfield Alliance Church from Pastor Jason Beamon: “We have decided that we will hold in-person services beginning Sunday, May 31, in accordance with all of the guidelines established by the governor. Anyone who is considered at risk will be encouraged to stay home. We will continue to record the services and post them online for those who choose to stay home.”
■The National Spiritual Alliance Thompson Memorial Temple in Lake Pleasant doesn’t plan to re-open until at least the middle of June, reports the Rev. Joseph Giannini. “We are monitoring COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. We will continue with online services.”
■The Rev. Heather Blais, rector of the Episcopal Church of Saints James and Andrew, says, “We won’t be rushing back (to conduct in-person services). Bishop Fisher’s directive closes our buildings until at least July 1. Given the time, thought, prayer and consideration required in this process, we know we will not be ready to open for a quite a while. We are going to take this slow.”
■Pastor Lee Momaney reports, “Robbins Memorial Church (Greenfield) has decided to reopen Sunday, June 7, at 10:30 a.m.”
