I was surprised to read in the Sep. 25 edition of The Recorder that the paper would be including Brickett Allis in their Oct. 7 televised mayoral debate.
Mr. Allis came in third in the preliminary election and was thereby eliminated from being on the ballot in this November’s general election. While I am aware he has mounted a write-in campaign, I am not aware of other write-ins being allowed to participate in The Recorder’s debates.
Is it the general policy of The Recorder to include write-in candidates in the debates they host? If not, what was the criteria on which the paper decided to include Mr. Allis?
