MONTAGUE — To celebrate the delicious red strawberry, Red Fire Farm is holding its annual Strawberry Soiree on Saturday at 2 p.m. on the farmland at 184 Meadow Road in Montague. The farm is partnering with Mount Grace Land Trust to celebrate the farm’s local organic offerings, while raising money for the Mount Grace Land Trust Campaign for Affordable Farms. There will be free tastings, music, a locavore dinner in the field and an outdoor concert.

Beginning at 10 a.m., Red Fire Farm will be open to the public for picking organic strawberries.The main event goes from 2 to 5 p.m., and will offer free tastings of many varieties of strawberry so visitors can find a new favorite. Other free activities include fairy house building and walking tours of the farm. The farm will be selling decadent desserts of strawberry shortcake and chocolate covered strawberries.

The Strawberry Soiree Feast in the Fields, a ticketed locavore dinner, starts at 5:30 p.m. Created by chef Bill McKerchie and Barnlight, the menu will feature Red Fire Farm seasonal organic produce and local products from other area farms. Tickets start at $55 with an option to also make a donation to Mount Grace Land Trust.

After the meal, an outdoor concert with Jake Klar will cap off the evening with rocking Americana starting at 8 p.m.

All events will take place rain or shine.
