The Greenfield Department of Public Works deserves thanks. They sweep our streets in the spring, summer and/or fall. They overlay Bituminous on needed roads. They plow the snow in the winter. They plant new trees. They cut the foliage from the edges of roads for safer passage. They paint the pavement markings for crosswalks and double yellow lines, making it clear for motorists to stay on their own side. They pick up our trash, and recyclables.

They do not admit to be perfect, but by gum, they do a darn good job. Thanks.

Who reminds us that those signs on the side of the road with the numbers means something? Yes, the speed limits signs. They is the maximum safe speed under ideal conditions. The police want us to get there safely. Meanwhile the Fire Department is standing by for any emergency. Thanks, thanks, thanks.
