CHARLEMONT — A 16-year-old boy was airlifted for medical treatment after he crashed a bicycle he was riding along Berkshire East’s mountain trails late Thursday afternoon.

Gabe Porter-Henry, Berkshire East’s marketing director, said the boy fell and had “some loss of consciousness.”

Berkshire East’s Bike Patrol responded to the report of an accident at about 4:45 p.m. and was transported to emergency services waiting on another part of the mountain.

The boy was taken by ambulance to Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, where a landing zone was set up for the helicopter.

Porter-Henry said he did not have any updates about the boy’s condition. The Charlemont Police Department could not be reached for further information.
