ATHOL — There were no injuries resulting from the rear-end crash that closed the eastbound lane of Athol’s Main Street for roughly 10 minutes Tuesday afternoon.

Athol Police Officer Steve Adams said he was turning left onto Island Street shortly before 2:30 p.m. when he saw a Ford F-150 driven by Francis Chaisson slam into a Subaru Impreza driven by Tiesha Chamberlain, in front of Athol Credit Union. Chamberlain was driving between Adams’ police car and Chaisson. Adams said he saw the accident in his rear-view mirror and noticed Chaisson was “kind of moving at a fast pace.” He said he cited Chaisson for following too closely.

“Everybody’s OK,” Adams said. “Everybody walked away without a scratch, so it’s a good day.”

C & D Towing removed the Impreza from the scene and Dale’s Auto Body removed the F-150.

Chamberlain said she was getting a ride from her boyfriend.

Officer Scott Dubrule used a police vehicle to block off a portion of Main Street until vehicle debris was removed from the road.
