Amber Bergeron netted 19 points on Thursday and Greenfield Middle School bested Athol, 40-24, in a middle school girls basketball game.
Maggie Provencal scored 11 points in the win. Carly Blanchard and Caitlyn Davenport each added 4 points, while Lilly Ross and Anna Bucala played well defensively.
Frontier boys win
Ben Sackrey hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 10 points to lead Frontier Middle School to a 55-15 win over Smith Academy in a boys basketball game Thursday at Goodnow Gymnasium in South Deerfield.
Frontier got 31 points from its bench in the win.
Hugh Hart notched 7 points in the win, and Jesse Kurkulonis added 6 points.
Pioneer coaches sought
Pioneer Valley Regional School is looking for the following coaches for the spring season: varsity softball, junior varsity softball, middle school softball and assistant girls track.

Deerfield scores
Deerfield Academy improved to 7-3 on the season in boys varsity ice hockey with a 5-2 win over Loomis Chaffee School, Wednesday in Deerfield.
In girls’ action, Deerfield moved to 7-4-1 on the year with a 6-1 win over Northfield Mount Hermon School.
The Deerfield boys basketball team improved to 4-6 on the season with a 55-48 victory over Nobles, Wednesday in Deerfield.
On the girls side, the Big Green suffered a 53-48 loss to Taft.
The Deerfield swimming and diving teams both came away victorious on Wednesday as the girls defeated Suffield, 96-89, while the boys bested Suffield, 102-78.
