ORANGE — The Orange Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Weymouth-French Home, 41 North Main St. The public is invited, and members of the community are encouraged to join the Society. Tuesday’s business meeting will determine officers for the coming season and discuss ongoing fundraisers and ideas for other events.
Activities in recent years have included fundraising to replace the boiler, paint the exterior and improve the parking area for better access to the building, which houses a collection of artifacts representing Orange’s past. Each year, tours are offered to students from the elementary schools in June, and public tours are available by appointment, in addition to regular summer hours on Wednesdays and Sundays. Monthly Breakfasts on the Porch have been a highlight of the past several summers.
Membership to the Orange Historical Society is open to anyone wishing to help support the ongoing work to preserve the memories and memorabilia of the Orange area.
The Society building is open for tours Sunday and Wednesday afternoons during the summer, or by appointment.
