If there was ever any doubt that Donald Trump is a sycophant of Vladimir Putin, the recent deal he announced that the United States would be buying diesel fuel from Russia should prove that this president has no loyalty to anyone but himself.

The high price of fuel in America is a problem of Trump’s own making due to his war with Iran. Since he can’t seem to fix that “problem” by ending that war, the only way he thought to shore up his crashing poll numbers ahead of the midterm elections was to make a surprise $4 billion deal with a tyrant baby-killer who has been bombing Ukraine for nearly five years, instead of doing the right thing and standing with the rest of the Western world to help protect this important ally.

Yes, that’s right, $4 billion of our tax money will extend Russia’s deadly war against Ukraine. That’s your money at work. How does it feel to invest in Putin’s campaign of death against a sovereign nation?

I hope this deal is delayed until the midterms, and that a rebalanced Congress puts a stop to this despicable act.
